At our Dinner Meeting at Toorak College on 29 September we had a visit from District Governor, Emma Clarke.
In her professional life is the Principal of Emerald Primary School.
With 34 years of Rotary & Rotaract experience Emma is a prime example of a Rotarian in Action. During her talk she focussed on District initiatives, the future of Rotary, growth, and two key areas of focus: Raising awareness around family violence prevenytion and supporting Australian Rotary Health's (ARH) work on mental health.
Club members all wore hats on the night as part of AHR program on Mental health; Lifting the Lid. Emma judged the evening and announced the four winners - Carolyn Such, Neil heron, Jan Berg & Bernie Edwards.
Thank you DG Emma for visiting our Club and sharing your vision, experience and enthusiasm.

Sarah Taylor, Victorian Fundraising Manager from Backpacks for Kids provided Rotarians with an overview of this charity's important works which our Club has supported. They provide essential packs to children and young people facing homelessness, entering out of home care or facing other circumstances where they have little more than the clothes they are wearing. The packs contain practical essentials including a change of clothing, warm socks, a beanie, toiletries, sanitary products, a notebook and pen.
These packs provide youth outreach workers and others supporting the homeless with something practical and immediate, helping to establish connection and trust.
