Guest speaker at this week's Zoom meeting of our Club was Martin Green the new CEO of Beleura House.
Martin delivered a fantastic speech looking at the potential for future promotion of Beleura House.
He spoke about his background at the National Trust and the things that he has done to attract interest in our heritage.
Martin's involvement at the National Trust saw the promotion of places such as Como, The Old Melbourne Gaol and Rippon Lea.
Attracting the attention of younger people, holding exhibits (eg Miss Fisher), murder mysteries, dancing, colouring in pictures and fashion shows have all been used to attract attention to places of historic interest.
Martin noted that Beleura is a remarkable property and attracting the interest of young people is a priority. Their engagement, especially with the garden, offers great future opportunities. Over the next twelve months Beleura will offer a number of outstanding jazz, classical and other musical programs.
Martin's aims to build upon Beleura's offerings not make radical change.
His talk was followed up with lots of questions and comments suggesting that he was one of our best speakers.
