Welcome

Ending Polio: Rotary’s Greatest Challenge — And Opportunity
For more than three decades, Rotary International has led one of the most ambitious public health initiatives in history: the eradication of polio.
As a founding partner of the Global Polio Eradication Initiative, Rotary has helped reduce polio cases worldwide by more than 99.9 percent. What was once a disease affecting hundreds of thousands of children each year is now on the brink of becoming only the second human disease ever eradicated.
This is extraordinary progress. But the work is not yet complete.
Why finishing matters
Polio remains endemic in a small number of countries. Until it is eradicated everywhere, children everywhere remain at risk. If global eradication efforts were to stop today, modelling shows that within 10 years, polio could once again paralyse up to 200,000 children annually.
This is why Rotary’s ongoing commitment — and the support of communities like ours — is so critical.
How you can help
Ending polio requires a global effort, and there are several meaningful ways to get involved:

Rotary Club of Mount Eliza in action
Here at the Rotary Club of Mount Eliza, we are proud to play our part in this global effort.
Through our fundraising initiatives, community events, and awareness campaigns, we contribute directly to Rotary’s End Polio Now mission. Whether it’s incorporating End Polio messaging into our major events, supporting Rotary Foundation giving, or amplifying global campaigns through our communications channels, our club remains committed to seeing this mission through to the end.
Every contribution — large or small — helps move the needle closer to eradication.
The final push
We are closer than ever before. But “almost” is not enough when it comes to a disease that can be prevented entirely.
Ending polio will be a defining achievement of our generation — and a testament to what can be accomplished when communities around the world work together with purpose.
If you would like to support Rotary Club of Mount Eliza’s efforts or learn more about how to get involved, we welcome you to connect with us.
