President's Message - John Welsh

President’s report 22nd April, 2023

The fund raising spit night went very well, 64 attendees, Jim and Jim held the floor and provide some light entertainment during the night as well as collecting some money.

Carolyn and Linda and Neil with their team did a great job in setting up, plenty of help in taking it all down.

The meat cooked well Mike and I enjoyed the carving.  All seemed to enjoy themselves. We had great feedback. All in all a successful night, both in social fellowship and in making a few dollars for the club.

Thanks to Carolyn setting up the Fireside last Tuesday. The meetings went well
the summaries are going to Carolyn for compilation and all will be discussed at the next club night.

The environment event on Sunday was called off due to weather however Neil still went and did some work, top marks!

Next Tuesday is Anzac Day, Linda has all in hand but as per usual we will need some help with the setting up and morning tea.
No meeting that evening.

I look forward to catching up the following Tuesday 2nd May.

Regards
John

This Weeks Speaker

There were no Speakers this weeks due to the Youth Spit Roast Fundraiser
A great deal of pre dinner effort went into the terrific Spit Roast held at St James the Less Hall last Saturday night.
President John had a very early start setting up the spit and the fire from 6am.
Then the troops arrived including the Suches, Morrisses, Neil Heron, Jim Young, Suzie Adam and Pauline to set up the hall, make multitudes of salads, pavlovas, and prepare the hundred or so potatoes and of course the amazing meat. Apologies to any missed helpers.
Mike Weber and John did a fantastic job of carving.
The night was a great success and Judy Coultas showed her prowess in guessing that there were 1092 jelly beans in the bottle.  Well done Judy.
Here are a couple of photos of the night compliments of Tia Worrell

Board Meeting

Thanks to all the Directors and to George-Ann for emailing out the Directors' Reports from the recent Board meeting
Please all have a look at them, particularly our newer members to get an idea of what each committee has accomplished and the plans for each committee in the near future.
The Financial Report is most interesting to see what all our hard work in fund raising has supported.
