Chris and I represented the Club at the Mount Eliza CFA Awards night on Saturday  2^nd.  They are most appreciative of the opportunity that we have given them to assist at the Farmers Market.  The night itself was very enjoyable.  We were able to see them giving personal recognition to brigade members from five years service up to 45 years service.  I was impressed with seeing so many young people volunteering their time.

Last week we had a presentation from David Corduff and Peter Orton from Peninsula Voice.  They see themselves as providing a forum for community discussion on a variety of issues.  At the moment their main focus is homelessness on the Peninsula.

Also the Such family displayed its approach to lowering their cost of living through a large vegetable garden.  Of course its not just about cost, its also the convenience of being able to just pick straight out of the garden. Sharing with your neighbours and friends is fun.

Homelessness and housing affordability have been an important focus lately, and we’ve previously looked at domestic violence, gambling harm, young people and mental health, refugees, neighbouring, loneliness and illicit drug addiction. As we plan the final event on homelessness in May, we’re looking forward to future issues we can support.
