This week we had the great pleasure of formally inducting Rosie Barber into the Rotary Club of Mount Eliza, marking the beginning of what we know will be a meaningful and rewarding Rotary journey.

After several months as a regular visitor, taking the time to understand our projects, our culture and our commitment to service, Rosie Barber has officially joined the Rotary Club of Mount Eliza.

Rosie was introduced by Trish Stamp, who has known Rosie and her late husband Tony for over a decade. Chris reflected warmly on Tony’s daily visits to the shop for a chat and the genuine connection they shared over the years. Now, it is Rosie who joins our Rotary family, bringing with her warmth, creativity and a strong sense of community.

Rosie is a talented artist with a remarkable body of work displayed in her home. Many in our community will have seen her creativity firsthand during local art weekends. Her artistic insight and community spirit will be a wonderful addition to our club.

During the induction, we reflected on Rotary’s proud history. Founded in February 1905 in Chicago by Paul Harris and three colleagues, Rotary International continues to unite people of action across the world. As we approach 121 years of service, we are reminded that every new member strengthens that global network.

Rosie was welcomed with the reminder that Rotary membership is both a privilege and a responsibility. We are guided by integrity, respect, transparency, trust and the principles of the Four-Way Test:

• Is it the truth?
• Is it fair to all concerned?
• Will it build goodwill and better friendships?
• Will it be beneficial to all concerned?

We look forward to Rosie’s active involvement across our service projects, fundraising initiatives and fellowship activities. Rotary offers many pathways for contribution, and each member shapes their own journey of service.

On behalf of all members, we warmly welcome Rosie to the Rotary Club of Mount Eliza. We are delighted she has chosen to join us.
