Along with a large number of Rotarians & Friends, President Ross was kept busy on Australia Day when the Rotary Club of Mt Eliza was on duty with a combination of the Annual Australia Day Event and the Farmers' Market being held.
Ross offers the following thoughts on this wonderful day:
We requested a donation for the CFA in exchange for free sausages and drinks - some gave more and some gave less than the going rate ...
One English visitor, clearly overcome by the Sun, donated $20 and wanted nothing.
We were well served by everyone who was helping.
Brynton occasionally paid attention to his assigned task instead of the passing scenery while our chef Mike was indefatigable.
Our female members were, as ever, to the for.
Club Service Director/ President elec, Sue Voss, was in Siberia stoically raising funds for the CFA - East Gippsland Rotary Aid.
John Paterson did not wear socks with his sandals. Genteel. Chocolate frog awarded.
Past president George-Ann was everywhere.
In Ross' opinion Rotary was highly visible and did well.
As always we were pleased to have the unstinting support of Ritchies IGA, the Community Bank, the Shire and David Morris MP.
It was suggested to the Editor that one person had donated $200.
