On the evening of Saturday 4 October, Robyn & I represented Rotary at the 2025 Annual Dinner & Awards Night of the Mt Eliza Volunteer Fire Brigade.

Held at the Function by the Bay Restaurant at the Frankston Football Club this was a most enjoyable and very interesting evening.
The room was buzzing as attendees had a wonderful night. Clearly members of the Brigade hold each other in high esteem, enjoy each other’s company and exhibit a high degree of professionalism.
Captain Mark Turnham, who has been a guest speaker at our Rotary Club, leads a team dedicated to service and protection of Mt Eliza property and residents.
Congratulations to those firefighters who received long service awards and service medals.
Singling out one person, Firefighter Geoffrey Birch was awarded a Medal for 50 Year’s of Service, which is extraordinary. He was also awarded a 3rd National Medal Clasp.
The Firefighter of the Year was awarded to Geoffrey Williams. Well done and thank you to both Geoffreys.
I am sure that local residents will be interested in all of those recognised and I believe that these will be detailed on the Brigade Website.
Robyn and I were seated with Brigade 2nd Lieutenant Nic Sutherland who was the MC, Ex Captain Andrew Whitehead (another former speaker at Mt Eliza Rotary), his wife Karen together with Sashene & Brad (Ben) representing the Bendigo Bank.
Another fun part of the evening was a Scavenger Hunt organised by Brigade Member Karen Wands.
There was a real buzz in the air as everyone enjoyed a fabulous night.
Thank you to the Brigade. It was a great please to join you on this terrific evening.
