RCME 50th Anniversary

Secretary Pauline reminds everyone to save the date for our 50th Anniversary - Tuesday May 25th, 2021

More details will follow shortly.

Club Guest Speaker

Our Guest Speaker this week was Elspeth Black from the Lord Smith Animal Hospital together with her beautiful dog Bertie - an Old English Sheepdog. Elspeth spoke about the outstanding work of Lord Smith and told a number of stories about dogs caring for people in need, especially those suffering from medical conditions (PET THERAPY). In addition to the work of Bertie, Elspeth also spoke about the work of Vlad, a gorgeous Black Russian Terrier and Doris, a Miniature Schnauzer.

Farmers Market

We have a Farmer's Market on Sunday 25 April (ANZAC DAY).

Kindly let Rotarian George-Ann of your availability so that a roster can be prepared asap.

ANZAC DAY

On Anzac Day a service will be held at the Mt Eliza Community Centre early in the afternoon (after the closure of the Farmers' Market)

Past President Ross advises that a small number of volunteers are required to set up for the commemorative service.

Please let Ross know of your availability.

Guests this week

Apart from our guest speaker Elspeth we also enjoyed having Leanne Trembath and Justin Mason attend this week's meeting. The Editor understands that Leanne & Justion will shortly become members which is great news.

It was also a delight to have former Club Member John Paterson visit us this week. It is very pleasing to report that John expects to be back from Tasmania later this year and that he will be rejoining our Club.

Secretary Pauline

The Editor speaks on behalf of everyone when he says that our beloved Secretary Pauline McFarlane is not grumpy.

However, Pauline was understandably a little upset at Tuesday's meeting because she had to spend a considerable amount of time on Tuesday confirming who was and was not attending our dinner meeting. Pauline needs to know the numbers by lunchtime on Tuesdays so that she is able to notify Toorak Collge in order that everyone in attendance can receive a meal.

Please show Pauline and your fellow members your respect by notifying Pauline IF YOU ARE NOT GOING TO BE IN ATTENDANCE.

Remember the element of the Four Way Test - IS IT FAIR TO ALL CONCERNED?

IT IS NOT FAIR IF YOU FAIL TO ADVISE OF NON-ATTENDANCE. IT IS NOT FAIR TO PAULINE, TO TOORAK COLLEGE NOR TO YOUR FELLOW MEMBERS IF THE CLUB HAS TO PAY FOR A MEAL BECAUSE YOU DON'T TURN UP.

Please let Pauline know as early as possible when you know that you are unable to attend and certainly no later than 12 noon on the day of the meeting.
