The Rotary Club of Mt Eliza came together tonight for Club Assembly, providing an opportunity for members to hear updates from across the Club, discuss upcoming initiatives and look at how our various committees are working together to create impact in our community.

There is plenty happening, with a particular focus on supporting young people and creating opportunities that can have a lasting influence.

International Men’s Day Mentoring Dinner

The Vocational Committee presented plans for a new initiative to mark International Men’s Day on 19 November.

The proposed mentoring dinner will bring together eight male Rotarians and eight Year 11 or 12 male students from Mt Eliza Secondary College.

The students will be identified by the school wellbeing team, with a focus on young men who may not have a strong male role model or support network.

The evening will be held at Vinnie's Pizza in Mt Eliza and will provide an informal environment for conversation, connection and positive male role modelling.

The initiative has been warmly received by Mt Eliza Secondary College, and planning is now underway to identify participating Rotarians and finalise the program.

Supporting Youth Through NYSF

The Youth Committee also shared the exciting news that a student from Toorak College has been successful in their application to attend the National Youth Science Forum (NYSF).

Supporting young people to explore their interests, develop confidence and discover future opportunities is an important part of Rotary's commitment to youth development.

We look forward to following the student's NYSF journey and celebrating their achievements.

A Busy Few Months Ahead

The Club also has a busy fundraising period ahead, with the Musical Soirée, Spring Fashion Parade and Calcutta Melbourne Cup all forming important parts of our fundraising calendar.

Club Assembly provides a valuable opportunity to bring all these activities together and ensure our members understand not only what is happening, but why we are doing it.

Behind every project is a group of members giving their time, ideas and skills to make a difference.

Tonight was a great reminder of just how much is happening across the Rotary Club of Mt Eliza and the impact we can create when we work together.
