President’s Column – Bulletin – 1 November 2026
There are many things going on in the Club. Never a dull moment. A decision has been made about the 2027 Golf Event. It will be held on Friday April 16 at the “Little Club” in Frankston as before. The catering will be as before. We will be supported by the Mornington Peninsula Order of St John as the last few years. The proceeds will be divided between Code 9 and Street Side Medics as last year. Thecommittee is now being set up to get ahead of the arrangements.
I have asked Jackie Lane and Alison Lythgoe to do a study looking at whether we should consider moving the 2028 event to a different course. Thank you Alison & Jackie.
We’ve qualified for two District grants. Carolyn Such is managing these with John Anderson taking part of the lead. There is also a window to qualify for another grant and Carolyn is pushing this through. Thank you!
RYLA is holding an advanced leadership course call Elevate. It will be held in the Blue Mountains in November. Our District RYLA leadership has selected Chloe Lewis to participate. Congratulations.!You will recall that Sam is “too old” to participate in RYLA however Elevate allows applicants up to age 40 to participate and the Board has selected Sam to participate.
I’m in Manila as I type this and will be in Hanoi and Singapore before returning at the end of the month when this Bulletin goes out. November has me in Singapore and Hanoi again.
Unfortunately I will not be at the Calcutta, however I wish Yvonne, Phil and the team every success.
