President's Message - Carolyn Such

Message from President Carolyn
This week I was reminded about the benefits of our home hosting program.  Chris and I enjoyed a beautiful Friday lunch with Brendan and Marilyn Hoban at their home and Carol Allen joined us.  It is a great way to re-connect with old friends and hear what is going on in their lives and also get to know newer members much better.  I recommend it to everyone.
Friday night I attended the film night was organised by Dromana Rotary with proceeds to go to polio eradication, a major Rotary International project.  Approximately one hundred Rotarians and spouses enjoyed the film about a very stubborn man who decided to walk the famous 800km Camino de Santigo pilgrimage in Spain.  He made it in the end, but it was interesting to see the people he met along the way and the way they influenced him.
Well, the busiest Rotary weekend of the year is behind us.  The combination of a Bunnings BBQ and filling in for Lions at a Farmers Market was a real challenge for us.  Congratulations to Annette Ferrier for being able to build effective rosters for both events with the help of a few spouses, friends, children as well as willing satellite Club members.  Thank you to everyone who helped us.  At the time of writing the financial results are not available but Chris reported that the Farmers Market BBQ people had to go off and replenish supplies so I am expecting a good combined result.
This week we have our Club Assembly as usual.  I do hope that we can get good attendance.  This is the best way for everyone to hear what is going on in the various committees and have a say about setting priorities.
