President Carolyn's Notes

It is nice to occasional have a different venue for our meeting.  Last week it was CBs in Mount Eliza.  They looked after us very well.  On the night we heard two autobiographies from our most recent members Clare Pearce and Catherine Leonard.  They were both very entertaining and gave the Club great insight into their lives leading up to them joining Rotary.  There is some great experience for us to draw on.
Australia Day was a great success.  It needed a great deal of organisation from Linda Morris and Bernie Edwards.  There was a lot of Rotarians supporting them.  It gave a fabulous community event where we were on full show.  There were a number of enquiries from prospective members.  Sausage sizzle donations delivered $932 for our Trust.  The raffle for the Men’s Shed delivered $2023.  Prizes were 5x$100 food vouchers and were donated by Ritchies in Mount Eliza.
The Minutes of our Board meeting last week have been circulated.  There are a couple of points to note.  Jim Young asked us to finalise plans for our home hosting by the end of our next Rotary year.  The upcoming Bunnings BBQs are on Sunday 7th April, Sunday  26th May and Friday 7th June are dates for your diaries.
Our next major fund raising event to focus on is the Golf Day on Friday 19th April.  The sub-committee have the event well in hand.  Lets hope for good weather.

President Carolyn.

This Week's  3 minute Speaker

Rowan Miller.

I collected the fridge trailer from Neil’s, removed the Generator & Generator box. & these have been taken to Zen for attachment to the new trailer.

Just after New Year, I collected the BBQ Marquee from Neil's & went down to have another meeting with Zen and returned it the same day. We did this to make sure we can make this fit in the new trailer.
We also went over the redrawn plans ... and worked over some more finer details ....

On behalf of the club a detailed letter was sent to Bunnings Mornington requesting help for the new trailer, and they have since donated a Sink, tap and new folding table.

I have managed to get two suitable fridges donated ... both working, one in excellent condition, & the other quite serviceable ...

As we proceed, I am collecting ...other bits and pieces needed... trying to get them donated or paying for them as we go. The new Hot Water service has arrived, along with the new pump.
Carolyn has donated a Microwave ...

The chassis is well on the way & Zen told me yesterday, due to Christmas closures he had been held up by non-delivery of some materials from suppliers. He is giving me an update at the end of the week & will also document each stage with pictures.
Summing up… your new BBQ trailer has, a new BBQ, generator, Microwave,2 Fridges, sink with hot & cold-water supply along with a sullage tank, electrical connections, side tables, an electric grill (to cook the eggs... etc) and storage areas for all our bits and pieces.
This trailer is totally self-contained, we will only have to hitch it up, go to site ... & everything is there.

It has been a very busy few months ... with huge number of hours drawing, working out dimensions, calculating weights, sourcing items of the right size to fit exactly as required, doing spreadsheets , but I believe we are making great progress and will have a New BBQ Trailer that we will all be proud of, and outlast us all !
The Panzer will be delivered !

Please Note: Bryton is away on holiday so there will be no "Joke of the Week" for the next 2 weeks
