Last weeks meeting was busy and very productive.  We had two young girls from ODA Siem Reap.  They spoke about all the work that they do in their school.  They have both gone through the school and on to the University.  They have trained as an accountant and a teacher.  They have both returned to ODA school to assist the organisation.  Sirley Hawe introduced them and is a friend of our Club.  We have been involved for many years and presented Shirley with $1000 from the International budget to assist in purchase of school uniforms for current students.
It was also lovely to have Sophie Morell with us.   I  remember her very well when I taught her at Toorak College.  She mentioned that she has only been back to the school twice since leaving.  She is a very courageous and has managed to overcome her Leukemia and competed in the transplant games in swimming and rowing winning several gold medals.
Most survey responses have been received.  We will compile the results and report back at the next Club Assembly.
I will see everyone at the McCleland Gallery this week.

Cluster Community Leaders

Planning for the next Rotary year
Peter Rawlings has kindly provided me with this important information about new Community Leaders

Last Saturday at the Zoom Cluster meeting, with our new community group which includes all the clubs on the Peninsula plus Cranbourne.

They talked about how important the role of Rotary Community Leaders would be and agreed our present cluster has been working well under the leadership of District Assistant Governor Peter Rawlings.

Each Regional Community Group will create it’s own plan and look at how clubs want and need to develop.

There will be much more to consider with this topic as we look at what we want to work on together and what sort of support is needed

The election of the new Rotary Community Leader will be in March/April. Do you know someone who would suit this role?
You can find out more on the website Creating Tomorrow Rotary.    https://creatingtomorrowrotary.org/

We have some wonderful champions in our club and ask is there something that you are passionate about? How can the club assist you?
