Bulletin 1 June 8th
Changeover 22,
As Paul Mee pointed out the changeover this year it has been 51 years of Presidents and Committees as well as members who deserve a great debt of gratitude for all the work and effort for the community here on the Peninsula as well as contribution to various overseas projects. . I take it as a great honour to be asked to be president this year and thank all our members for all your support.
At the changeover we were able to Welcome DG Paul and Adele Mee , AG Peter Rawlings as well as the President elects Dick Cox from Somerville Tyabb and Bill Branthwaite from Mt Martha.
I would like to thank Neil and the board over the past 12 months for setting agendas and achieving great results. The concept of avenues of service helping with fundraising and taking responsibility of the program on the second Tuesday of each month has been a great success. Carolyn and I aim to maintain these changes.
Hopefully with Covid decreasing, we now have a chance to go forward and build, our ability to create fund raising opportunities which give us the opportunity to spend into the community and to Rotary projects, and to build friendships and fellowships through Rotary.
I would like us to be a welcoming club with Fellowship friendships a major area for me this year, I think that if we treat each other using the Rotary 4-way test of the things we think, say or do: Is it the TRUTH? Is it FAIR to all concerned? Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS? If we do this we will continue on the right path.
This year I hope to build on our relationships with the local schools through a commitment to the environment and support of young people. Through our members relationships with other groups in the community to broaden our base and profile.
I had the opportunity to introduce the incoming board, Carolyn Such our President elect, Sue Voss Treasurer, George-Ann Secretary, Jim Young Vocational, Pauline McFarlane Community, Jim Voss Youth , Neil Heron PP Environment, Maurie Selth International Linda Morris Fund Raising.
It was a great night and thanks to all for attending.
Next Tuesday we have a fellowship night at Vinnies Pizza in Mt Eliza. Please see the humanitix email sent on the 31st May. Hope to see you there.
