Thoughts of your President.
Events of the past weeks made me wonder how individuals form friendships.

Some of the people I know have clearly developed friendships through shared or similar experiences or backgrounds. I’m certainly not referring to acquaintances, or being a Facebook friend.

I have been surprised to discover that people I thought, over many Years and for what ever reason were friends, only tolerated each other. For external appearances. Quelle horreur! Only, only apparent (at least to me) when one of them went to God’s Morning, or Dubbo.

We all know that ‘trying’ to be friends is doomed. It is just a matter of whether you are cast in the rôle of the doomer or the doomee.😂.
To my greatest delight someone once decided he’d be my friend. Never said anything, just became. I wish I knew why. No, I don’t.

Now, it is a fact companies rely on managed tolerance during their working day to ensure a positive outcome. Trust me, I learned it at Uni. NSW. I have the Certificate. indecision

If one is to believe the papers, it is a wonder some organisations function at all. Perhaps they take a leaf from the respect the uniform approach of the military. Maybe it is luck.

We ourselves as Rotarians are not a different section of society; a different species. So how is it that Rotary globally ‘works’ let alone a branch?

Maybe, to quote my Friend “It is what it is”.

District Governor Elect Mark Humphries

Gumbya World is a proud sponsor of our District, we want to thank Gumbuya World for their very generous support by having a Rotarians, Families and Community day at Gumbya World. We are looking for big numbers to booked through our special Rotary portal. Special prices apply and 10% of our gate will be remitted back to us, as further sponsorship.

HOW GOOD IS THAT

Let support each other and our major sponsor. Make it more than a family day, why not look at how we can engage our community, could we take a bus load of students or disadvantage kids out for a fun day?

Mount Eliza  men’s shed

Mount Eliza Men's Shed is a small, but expanding shed that encourages local men to get together. RCME is pleased to support their initiatives.

Mount Eliza Men's Shed is a small, but expanding shed that encourages local men to get together.

Our focus is on inclusion, sharing skills and contributing to our community. We hope to improve the physical and mental health of men in our area.

We’ve got big plans for the Mount Eliza Men’s Shed and will need help to plan and construct it. Your organisation can make a financial or in-kind contribution to help us.

We welcome new members. If you’d like to join us for a cup of tea, or to get stuck into one of our projects, we’d love to hear from you.
