For the past eight years, Jo has been running her own businesses alongside her husband Darren, specialising in event infrastructure and solutions that transform empty spaces into successful, well-run events. From logistics and traffic management to the less glamorous but essential details, Jo’s work is driven by a strong focus on customer insight and problem-solving.
Jo is also the founder of Frankston’s largest coworking space, established in 2018, and now works closely with businesses, entrepreneurs and organisations to help them better understand their value proposition and emotional connection with customers. Her latest initiative, Boss Mode Activated, supports aspiring business owners — particularly those considering a transition from the traditional 9–5 — to clearly define who they help, why their work matters, and how they create impact.
During her talk, Jo drew clear parallels between business, entrepreneurship and Rotary. She highlighted how the Friends of Rotary program offers a flexible and welcoming pathway into service — allowing people to connect, contribute and grow without pressure.
“The Friends program is an invitation, not a demand. It’s a bridge, not a cliff.”
Jo’s reflections reinforced the strength of Rotary’s collective wisdom and the importance of community. Whether in business or service, Rotary offers connection, support and — most importantly — a place to begin.
